Novotel Singapore Clarke Quay is proud to be Singapore’s first Earth Check certified hotel. The hotel was certified in 2008, after a vigorous audit process, to certify that the hotel operations are focus on not only sustainability but also its social responsibility in the local community. In addition to this, the hotel has participated in numerous events that are aimed at educating its staff and local community in our environmental and social responsibilities.

Novotel: the brand that respects the environmentNovotel has always been a precursor in the hotel industry. Since its creation 40 years ago, the chain has evolved, anticipated its clients’ expectations, and introduced innovations regarding well-being, comfort and sustainable development. Concern for the environment is part of Novotel’s DNA. The brand is pursuing its long-range commitment within the framework of the Accor Group’s Earth Guest program. It is focusing on three areas of endeavor: establishing construction standards, ensuring that staff and employees practice sustainable development on a daily basis, and getting hotels guests to feel concerned and involved. To affirm its operational commitment, Novotel signed a partnership agreement in July 2007 with Earth Check, the international environmental certification program for responsible travel and tourism |

Our commitment to sustainable development with a worldwide certification program.To this end, Novotel launched the pilot phase of its Earth Check certification program in July 2007, which involves 28 hotels in 12 countries on 5 continents. The countries are: the United Kingdom, Switzerland, France, Brazil, Ivory Coast, India, China Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. At present, Novotel has 30 certified hotels. Each hotel will be assessed on eight performance criteria in order to guarantee, among other things, better waste management, the reduction of all pollutants, and controlled water and energy consumption. Thus, Novotel actively joins the fight against global warming. An audit will be carried out on each hotel in order for it to obtain Earth Check certification within 6 to 12 months; after certification, audits are conducted annually to ensure performance is maintained. |
