The fastest way to acquaint one’s self with Chinatown is to go on a walking tour along the streets filled with interesting shops and stalls. Here, you can find trinkets, chinese silk, tailors, perfume and so much more.
For tourists to get familiarized and get an overview about Chinatown, they can visit the Chinatown Heritage Centre in Pagoda Street. Local food delights are also available for feasting in Smith Street which is also dubbed as the “food street” of Chinatown.
There are also a few temples located here, the most famous one is the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple . Opened on 2008, it is both a temple for worship and a museum that houses over a hundred different images of the Buddha and a Sacred Budda Tooth Relic in a stupa of 320kg of gold.
